Erskine plays it safe

For the fourth consecutive year, Erskine Systems has won a prestigious annual National Safety Award from the British Safety Council.

For the fourth consecutive year, Erskine Systems has won a prestigious annual National Safety Award from the British Safety Council.

Given to organisations that have attained a high health and safety standard, the National Safety Awards support the British Safety Council's ongoing commitment to encourage good health and safety practice and to reward achievement.

Over each of the last four years, Erskine's safety record is compared with other public and private companies within the same industry and the winners are selected from organisations that have demonstrated a below average accident rate.

"Making workplaces safer is a significant and ongoing achievement", said British Safety Council Director General David Ballard.

"Legislation and enforcement are important, but it is what is done by you in your own workplaces that really makes the difference between having a safe and sustainable working environment, or one that could kill or maim you or your colleagues".

In a message of support to the winners Prime Minister Tony Blair said: "I send my congratulations to all those organisations being presented with National Safety Awards by the British Safety Council".

"These recognise the crucial success that these organisations and their employees have achieved in their pursuit of excellence in the management of health, safety and environmental matters".

"I welcome this opportunity to publicly recognise the valuable contribution that the British Safety Council makes in promoting health, safety and environmental best practice".
