Jbed Micro Edition CLDC (Connected Limited Device Configuration) is Esmertec's drop-in replacement product for Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME) CLDC.
Heeb will be assuming the responsibilities of Chief Technology Officer and will continue to be Chairman of the Board.
Speaking about the appointment, Heeb described Blancquart as the ideal candidate to take Esmertec to the next level and beyond in its corporate development.

Blancquart brings a wealth of experience to his new role with Esmertec.
He has over 30 years of experience in the IT industry, has held different VP Europe and International positions in companies such as Micropro (Worldstar), Borland International, and Computervision, and more recently served as GM and VP EMAE for Openwave.
Blancquart received his BS in electronic engineering from Ecole Centrale Electronique of Paris (France).
"Throughout his career, Alain has demonstrated a strong grasp of the international telecommunications market, and of what it takes to succeed within that market", said Jean Schmitt, Partner at Sofinnova Partners, and Member of Esmertec's Board of Directors.
"His experience is just what esmertec needs to successfully market the Jbed Micro Edition Platform also in the future".
