Jbed Micro Edition CLDC (Connected Limited Device Configuration) is Esmertec's drop-in replacement product for Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME) CLDC.

The potential of wireless online gaming has not escaped the attention of the mobile network operators, who measure their success in average revenue per user (ARPU).
Gains in ARPU have been increasingly hard to come by for most operators, and offering new games for download is an opportunity to get ARPU climbing again.
Analysts say playing games on mobile handsets could be a huge source of revenue for service providers.
Ovum, a telecommunications research company, says globally spending on mobile games will total $4.37 billion by 2006.
Arno Filbig, VP Business Development, Esmertec, stated, "Esmertec and em Motion will provide mobile operators games that are addictive, look great on a mobile screen and take virtually zero seconds to start up on a mobile phone due to Jbed's compiling technology.
Esmertec's Jbed Micro Edition Platform provides the performance necessary to drive the multiple simultaneous Java applications that will soon be available on mobile handsets, such as em Motion Java games and applications for Java-enabled mobile phones".
