Euroquartz Group has a new range of UHF helical filters designed specifically for satellite broadcasting applications The new 5W UHF filters series features 5.5mm case size and offers a high specification for both DBS (direct broadcast satellite) and BS (broadcast satellite) applications

Ideal for use in all satellite receivers, the DBS filters operate at 900MHz with bandwidths of 16, 20 and 25MHz whereas BS versions operate at 610 to 640MHz with a 20 or 25MHz bandwidth.

Helical filters offer a variety of benefits in comparison with SAW filters including customer specification of centre frequency and bandwidth, no initial design charges, lower insertion losses and lower impedance.

In addition, the simpler design of helical filters enables smaller quantities to be produced economically and quicker delivery.

Besides the 5W series for satellite broadcasting equipment, Euroquartz can also supply a comprehensive range of helical filters suitable for a wide variety of applications including cable TV, fibre-optic systems and wireless communications.
