Chinese SAWs come to Europe

Euroquartz has entered into a Partnership arrangement with Nanjing Electronic Devices Institute of China (NEDI) to promote surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices in Europe.

Euroquartz has entered into a Partnership arrangement with Nanjing Electronic Devices Institute of China (NEDI) to promote surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices in Europe.

The partnership provides European OEMs with a source of high quality SAW devices coupled with local technical and logistical support.

NEDI offers in excess of 1000 different SAW filter designs encompassing the frequency range 20.0MHz to 1.8GHz.

Applications for SAW technology components are diverse, including front-end filters for remote control and wireless alarms, RF modulators in consumer electronic equipment, FM broadcast local oscillators, signal filtering in communications equipment, wireless LANs, digital television and satellite receiver DBS systems.

Commenting on the partnership agreement, Dennis Murrell, Euroquartz Group's Managing Director, said: "NEDI is at the forefront of research and development of SAW components and our partnership arrangement will deliver high quality SAW devices backed by Euroquartz Group's unrivalled technical and logistical support".

NEDI currently employs more than 2000 staff, over 1200 of which are technicians or engineers.

NEDI's sophisticated production facilities are up to date and the research and development capability produces speedy and accurate development of new designs.
