Memory devices remain a strategically important segment of 2001's marketing programme and the addition of Amic will complement the existing line up.

2001 Electronic Components has added further key ranges to its memory franchise base, with the addition of Amic Technology.

As part the giant UMC group, Amic has a unique position having access to the latest semiconductor design support as well as one of the world largest manufacturing operations.

AMIC has developed a strong product line up of SRAM and NOR Flash, with a new family of DRAM products already in production.

Hans Molenaar, Regional Sales Manager for Amic, has been with the company from the start and has seen a rapid growth in the company's products and sales.

"Our range of NOR Flash is a direct alternative to AMD/Spansion with standard and dual bank parts readily available".

"As part of UMC we are also able to utilise their world class wafer fabs, ensuring the industry's highest quality devices and extremely reliable 'on time' delivery", he says.

"The introduction of our low power SRAM range has been ideal, as users of Samsung products look to requalify alternatives, following the Korean giant's decision to pull out of this part of the market", adds Molenaar.

Memory devices remain a strategically important segment of 2001's marketing programme and the addition of Amic will complement the existing line up.

Nicky Werner heads up 2001's growing memory operation which has been active since the company's launch in June 1988.

She comments: "AMIC's Flash and SRAM products have already been designed into several of our larger UK customers, with price, delivery and quality being key factors".
