Modular power supply suits medical use
The Xzite family employs a plug and play architecture that allows users to instantly configure a custom power solution in less than five minutes. medical applications.
Custom PSU configured online saves the day
Compared with alternative designs, the Excelsys solution for EPC reduced the required parts, improved efficiency and saved space.
Each powerKit package contains an application specific powerPac chassis and 1U enclosure, seven powerMod DC output modules, an Xgen designer's manual, parallel and series links for joining modules together, a voltage adjustment tool and even the correct sized Posi-screwdriver for assembling the required modules.
The output modules may be connected in series and parallel to further extend powerKit's capabilities.
To configure the required prototype system, all the designer has to do is fit the required powerMod output modules to the powerPac chassis, adjust the output voltage, select the required type of current limiting and set point and connect up.

Compact power supply provides quiet operation
The Excelsys Xqite has a universal input range, 85-264V AC, over-voltage protection and will operate at full load up to 50C.
PSUs are configured for medical applications
Configurable power supply is approved to EN60601-1 and UL2601-1, providing up to 600W output in a slimline 1U x 260 x 89mm package.
When the ideal solution has been arrived at Excelsys will provide production units configured and fully tested to the end user's own, predetermined specifications.
Application specific powerKits are available for medical systems, high-temperature installations, low acoustic noise environments as well as standard industrial applications.
Models are available with output power of 600, 900 and 1200W and with slots for either four or six powerMod output modules.
All configurations meet required international safety agency approvals.
Gary Duffy, Managing Director of Excelsys Technologies, comments: "Our powerKit power supply platform provides the ultimate plug and play power supply development kit for power systems designers".
"It completely does away with the traditional expensive and time consuming development of prototype power supplies and enables users to create a no-compromise power solution in minutes, which we will then be able to ship direct from our factory in production quantities".
Standard powerKit features include: 1U format, up to 1200W output power at up to 90% efficiency, standard nominal output voltages from 1.5 to 58V DC, straight line or foldback current limit, output inhibit/enable control and local or remote adjustment.
Typical applications include: medical systems, industrial control and instrumentation, n+1 and redundant power systems, test and measurement equipment, telecomms and IT power.
