Chromatic dispersion can be characterised with high accuracy from a single fibre end and testing polarisation mode dispersion from a single end is also possible.
It includes advanced peak-finding routines, enabling the FR-3000 NanoRobot system to find first light and optimise alignment faster than any competitive product.
The script-based routines are ready to go and easy to customise with the FR-3000's open architecture.
Customisation is done via C++, LabView or Visual Basic; no special programming languages are required.
In addition to being flexible, EXFO's motion control software is intuitive and user-friendly.
It includes a virtual rotation point that the FR-3000 sets automatically, or the user can position it as required.
The FR-3000 NanoRobot system offers photonics component manufacturers higher yields for complex components as well as shorter settling times and high stability for greater assembly efficiency.
The NanoRobot system positions components with 0.1nm resolution.
"Our new product is the most powerful nanoalignment software available", said David Farrell, President of Burleigh Instruments, a wholly owned subsidiary of EXFO.
"It's a perfect complement to the FR-3000, which features the best optical alignment performance in the industry.
Our combined solution increases yields for photonics component manufacturers and that's what we're all about".
