Chromatic dispersion can be characterised with high accuracy from a single fibre end and testing polarisation mode dispersion from a single end is also possible.
The FTB-8105 Transport Blazer, housed inside Exfo's FTB-200 compact platform or the FTB-400 universal test system, is ideally suited for time-division-multiplexing (TDM) field-service deployment and maintenance applications.
When combined with the FTB-8510 Packet Blazer Ethernet module, customers obtain a fully integrated test solution to meet the growing demand for Ethernet-over-TDM network deployments.
The T-Carrier/PDH Transport Blazer is also offered inside Exfo's rack-mountable IQS-500 intelligent test system.
The addition of the IQS-8105 to the IQS Transport Blazer product line provides customers with a wide range of test interfaces needed for multiservice transport platform (MSTP) lab and manufacturing test-station requirements.
"Exfo's FTB-8105 Transport Blazer test solution comes to market at a time when carriers are moving towards Ethernet-based connectivity for their end-customers", said Etienne Gagnon, Exfo's Vice-President of Protocol-Layer Product Management.
"As Ethernet-over-TDM devices are increasingly being used by carriers to deliver Ethernet-based services to small and medium-sized enterprises, Exfo's Transport Blazer and Packet Blazer modules, integrated in the most compact form factor of the industry, offer the necessary test capabilities and scalability to meet this growing market demand".
