NSPs can extract the maximum value from their investment in the FTB-8140 Transport Blazer by leveraging Exfo's industry-leading FTB-400 Universal Test System, a PC-based, modular field-test platform offering the widest range of optical test modules.
Key optical modules that can be combined with the FTB-8140 include Exfo's best-in-class chromatic dispersion (CD), polarisation mode dispersion (PMD) and optical spectrum analyser (OSA), as well as the market-leading FTB-7000 OTDR family, thus delivering a unique, portable solution addressing 40Gbit/s testing requirements from the physical to the transmission layer.
In addition, the FTB-8140 Transport Blazer module can be matched with the recently introduced FTB-8130NGE Power Blazer to address DSn/PDH, Sonet/SDH (155M to 40G), OTN (2.7G to 43G), and Ethernet (10M to 10GigE LAN/WAN) testing requirements in a single platform.
"Leading NSPs around the world are starting to deploy the most advanced transmission technology in their core network infrastructures, namely Sonet/SDH to 40Gbit/s and OTN to 43Gbit/s, given the incredible bandwidth requirements in access networks", says Etienne Gagnon, Exfo's Vice-President of Product Management and Marketing.
"Exfo's new FTB-8140 Transport Blazer addresses the need for field technicians to face real-life deployment challenges with a portable and cost-effective test solution, while providing comprehensive OTN test capabilities up to 43Gbit/s in the best-of-class FTB-400 platform".
