Help available with environmental compliance
In the light of increasing customer demand, Exel, the global leader in supply chain management, has launched its environmental compliance solutions.
Exel is continuing to invest in its WEEE and RoHS capabilities in the lead up to summer 2006, when both new sets of regulations will take full effect.
After successfully graduating with a degree in materials science and technology from Birmingham University in 1998, Ratliff joined Exel's automotive sector.
During this time he developed logistics solutions for a range of automotive companies, paying special attention to issues such as packaging, waste and network design in the global original equipment manufacturer (OEM) market.
Ratliff said: "The knowledge that I have gained in the automotive sector will definitely be an asset to my new role within Exel".
"Waste is an important and relevant issue for many businesses today, so my experience in the logistics and waste management sphere will be vital when dealing with the realities of WEEE and RoHS compliance".
General Manager of Exel's environmental compliance business, Paul James added: "Interest in both WEEE and RoHS has grown considerably as more businesses in retailing, importing and manufacturing realise the enormity of the obligations to which they need to conform by the summer of 2006".
"Investing in people with considerable industry experience puts us in a prime position to help advise businesses on their exposure to this type of waste regulation - and the most efficient way to fulfil their environmental responsibilities".
