Help available with environmental compliance
In the light of increasing customer demand, Exel, the global leader in supply chain management, has launched its environmental compliance solutions.
Written in a clear and easily understandable format, the online newsletter details the latest developments in the introduction of WEEE.
Subscribers to the newsletter will not only be able to track the progress of WEEE implementation, but understand its impact on their business.
In addition, the publication offers regular features providing businesses with helpful advice on preparing for their legislative obligations and describes systems already being used in other European member states.
"The WEEE Oracle is aimed at helping companies understand their new environmental responsibilities", explained Paul James, General Manager of Exel's environmental compliance solutions business.
"There are still a lot of outstanding issues to be resolved as WEEE implementation draws closer and it is hoped that the newsletter will be an easy and accessible way for companies to keep updated on the regulation's progress".
The UK's WEEE regulations - which stem from the WEEE Directive, otherwise known as the European Directive for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment - are designed to ensure equipment is disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner.
The onus for this will be placed at the feet of brand owners, importers and retailers of electrical and electronic equipment.
The WEEE Oracle offers updates and advice on the regulations in the UK, which are due to take effect in June 2006.
