Malaysian base is central to sourcing
strategy
Exception VAR has opened a new supply management centre in Penang, Malaysia, as part of its global sourcing strategy.

Over the coming months Fastrack's capabilities will be upgraded with new placement machines, the updating of the vapour phase oven and the introduction of a DEK 03i printer.
Initially, the business has employed two tri-lingual managers, who are Malaysian nationals.
The new facility has been established to develop Exception's supplier base in South East Asia, programme manage the existing supply contracts in the region and create greater efficiencies across the supply chain.
The centre is also being developed to support Exception's increased capacity in the supply of outsourced electronic products and subassemblies including PCAs, cable and harnesses, metalwork and plastic components from the lowest cost economies.
Justin Olejnik, Strategic Procurement Director at Exception VAR, said: "We invested a lot of senior management time getting to know the region before making the final decision to base our facility in Penang".
"Thanks to its high calibre workforce, entrepreneurial culture and multilingual business community, we were able to establish a base in Malaysia".
"It is our plan to develop Penang as the regional centre for our operations in South East Asia".
With a turnover in excess of GBP 25 million, eVAR is headquartered at Calne, UK, where it employs 42 people.
Working with a small number of best in class PCB manufacturers in Malaysia, China, Taiwan and Europe, eVAR provides a seamless PCB sales, engineering, logistics, quality control and product stocking service to customers in the automotive, industrial, contract assembly, consumer and telecomms/datacomms markets.
