Ezurio chose the Embedded Design Show in San Jose to release the first in a range of 802.11b/g modules designed specifically for the embedded market.
Bluetooth has become one of the most successful short range wireless technologies, and is found in many consumer and industrial products.
Its success has been due in large part to its flexibility in being able to address a multiplicity of different applications.
However, to achieve that position, it has been important to ensure that there is interoperability between the myriad of different uses to which the technology is being applied.
Ezurio is the leading supplier of intelligent Bluetooth modules to the embedded industry and has been an active supporter of the qualification programmes that the Bluetooth SIG has produced, which aim to ensure that Bluetooth products comply with the requirements of the specification and interoperate with each other.
"Interoperability is key for many of our customers, as it opens up connectivity to thousands of other Bluetooth devices", said Nick Hunn, CTO of Ezurio.
"We welcome the more active stance that the Bluetooth SIG is taking in enforcing their qualification programme".
"We were encouraged by the recent update to the qualification program which incorporates more stringent testing of interoperability".
"Coupled with a higher profile enforcement program and more resources to police it, this has got to be good news for the integrator and end user of Bluetooth wireless technology".
All of Ezurio's intelligent Bluetooth modules are pre-approved as Bluetooth end products.
This means that designers can incorporate them into their products with no need for further qualification, ensuring the fastest time to market and the assurance of full compliance.
