The soft recovery minimises ringing, expanding the range of conditions under which the diode may be operated without the use of additional snubber circuitry, while reducing EMI and improving system reliability.
Stealth diodes can be used as a boost diode in power factor correction circuits, and as a free wheeling diode in uninterruptible power supplies, motor drives and SMPS.
These applications frequently require a pair of diodes having a common cathode configuration.
Forward current ratings of 2 x 8, 2 x 15 and 2 x 30A with common cathode connection are available in TO-220A and TO-247 packages with a maximum junction temperature up to 175C.
