Fairchild Semiconductor has released the FS6M07652RTC power switch, a highly integrated offline power switch for LCD monitor flyback power supply and AC/DC adapter applications.

Fairchild Semiconductor has released the FS6M07652RTC power switch (FPS), a highly integrated offline power switch for LCD monitor flyback power supply and AC/DC adapter applications This device integrates a SenseFET and a current mode PWM IC to minimise external components, simplify designs, and lower costs in the target applications

Featuring burst-mode operation for standby mode, the FS6M07652RTC lowers power consumption by reducing switching loss.

Designs based on the FS6M07652RTC provide superior performance compared to discrete mosfet/controllers or RCC switching convertor solutions and offer the benefits of reduced board space, improved reliability (through various protection circuits) and lower power consumption in standby mode (through burst mode operation).

The FS6M07652RTC provides internal protection, including overvoltage, overload, thermal shutdown and overcurrent protection.

Additional features include integrated fixed oscillator, under voltage lockout, optimised blanking and gate turn-on/turn-off driver, and temperature compensated precision current sources for loop compensation and fault protection circuitry.

The internal current-sensing high-voltage SenseFET offers a 650V minimum breakdown rating.

Additionally, the FS6M07652RTC power switch comes in a space saving TO-220F-5L, among other package options.
