Dual-output buffer for DDR SDRAM modules
Fairchild Semiconductor has introduced a dual-output registered buffer for 184-pin, 2.5V PC200/PC266, 72bit-wide registered double data rate (DDR) SDRAM modules.
Bus hold makes logic more predictable
Fairchild Semiconductor has made a number of additions to its LCX family, the logic industry standard for 3.3V applications.
An extremely cost-effective chipset solution, the FDS6688 and FDS6694 combination achieves efficiencies comparable to popular, competitive devices.
The FDS6694 and FDS6688 matched pair provides RDS(ON) and QG parameters optimised respectively for high-side and low-side switch applications.
The low gate-charge, low gate-resistance and low on-resistance combined with dramatic die-size reductions are the result of recent advances in PowerTrench mosfet technology.
Of particular note is the low on-resistance (at 4.5V) gate drive, allowing high efficiency to be maintained over a wide operating range.
For less critical applications, another new mosfet, the FDS6682, offers an additional cost-saving option.
"The rollout of our next-generation PowerTrench mosfet products illustrates Fairchild's responsiveness to current market demands", said Izak Bencuya, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Fairchild's Discrete Power Technologies Group.
"Fast-switching solutions are popular with notebook manufacturers, and the combination of the FDS6688 and FDS6694 offers these manufacturers all the performance and value they require.
Fairchild has now developed a top-ranking portfolio of power discrete products", Bencuya added.
"This allows us to pinpoint solutions like the FDS6688/FDS6694 chipset, as well as the FDS6682, all specifically designed to address the needs of our customers".
Fairchild's N-channel mosfets have the added benefit of being offered in space saving SO-8 packages, rated at 1750C, and are available in tape-and-reel packing.
