cFairchild Semiconductor has appointed Bill Hall to the position of vice president of Corporate Marketing, charged with leading the company's unified global marketing strategy across all product lines.
Hall will report directly to Hans Wildenberg, Fairchild's executive vice president of Worldwide Sales and Marketing.
"Bill's diverse technical knowledge, together with his marketing experience and leadership skills, will be a tremendous boost to Fairchild's efforts to leverage our global marketing strategy to increase opportunities in our target market segments", said Hans Wildenberg.
"Fairchild offers one of the industry's broadest and most respected portfolios of high performance power products, and I look forward to Bill's expertise in identifying and driving new market and application opportunities while promoting a single Fairchild solution to our customers".
"Since we founded Fairchild five years ago, the individual divisions have done a great job building our product portfolio and making the company the world's leading supplier of broad-based power components.
I'm excited about having the opportunity to take this effort to the next level, identifying and developing a total Fairchild solution set for our key market segments", said Hall.
"Fairchild has evolved from a supplier of standard components to its leadership position today by designing and manufacturing leading-edge Power and Interface technologies critical to multiple end markets.
My team and I will be working diligently to stay ahead of the curve, developing and providing total solutions that our customers need for their applications".
Hall has more than 29 years experience in the electronics field.
After earning a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Drexel University he worked for RCA as a radar design engineer.
He has held numerous management positions in engineering, marketing and product line assignments at companies including Arrow Electronics, National Semiconductor and Fairchild Semiconductor.
Hall joined Fairchild Semiconductor when the company was established in 1997, most recently serving as vice president of marketing for Fairchild's Interface and Logic Division, where he was instrumental in transforming the Standard Logic Group into the Interface and Logic business.
While directing the division's marketing efforts, Hall helped grow annual revenues generated by new products from 5% to more than 40%, drove the development and implementation of the company's cross-divisional pricing strategy programme, and led one of Fairchild's e-business efforts to develop market intelligence and decision support tools.
