Dual-output buffer for DDR SDRAM modules
Fairchild Semiconductor has introduced a dual-output registered buffer for 184-pin, 2.5V PC200/PC266, 72bit-wide registered double data rate (DDR) SDRAM modules.
When a printer is turned on, the LVXZ161284 forces the interface device's outputs into a high state until a valid signal is received on the inputs, preventing faulty start ups-a common problem on consumer printers.
Exceeding the ESD protection capability of competitive offerings, the LVXZ161284 exhibits the highest ESD protection in the market, withstanding greater than 4kV ESD, as well as 200V machine model (MM) and 2kV charged-device model (CDM) testing.
Higher ESD protection improves system reliability and prevents damage to surrounding circuitry, such as expensive ASICs and microprocessors.
The translating transceiver contains eight bidirectional data buffers and 11 control/status buffers.
The device operates at 3.3V and fully supports IEEE1284 Level-1 and Level-2 signalling standards for bidirectional parallel communication.
