Bus hold makes logic more predictable
Fairchild Semiconductor has made a number of additions to its LCX family, the logic industry standard for 3.3V applications.
RosettaNet is the high technology industry's leading e-business standards consortium, formed to accelerate the collaborative development and rapid deployment of open Internet-based business standards that align processes within the global high-technology trading network.
Fairchild Semiconductor and Arrow Electronics are two of the more than 450 companies that participate in the standards development.
"By deploying the RosettaNet PIP 5C1 with Arrow, we've completely automated the process of sharing lists of our parts eligible for design registration, migrating from a more complex and time consuming process", said Hans Wildenberg, Fairchild's Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing.

PLL clock drivers target high-speed clocking
Two low voltage PLL clock drivers designed for use in high-speed memory clocking applications are now available from Fairchild Semiconductor.
"This is Fairchild's first RosettaNet exchange for demand creation processes and it represents an important milestone, accomplished over a short 60-day period.
We plan to move forward with Arrow to deploy PIP 5C4, which will enable automatic status of registration requests.
We welcome the opportunity to work with Arrow on this deployment and look forward to working with other partners to leverage the benefits of RosettaNet for improved e-business processes".
As part of the company's Focus programme, Fairchild provides its partners, such as Arrow, with a list of parts that are eligible for design registration.
The programme uses Fairchild's Power Franchise product portfolio and the distributor's field application engineer (FAE) expertise to focus the distribution resources on new design activities.
By providing an easy to use registration process, requiring minimal administration, Fairchild and Arrow can optimally support the strategic design goals of customers.
"Arrow is a leading supply chain partner and we have strong FAE expertise to take full advantage of this design registration programme", said Skip Streber, Senior Vice President, Supplier Services Group, Arrow Electronics.
"We're very pleased to partner with Fairchild on this e-business initiative.
Utilising RosettaNet makes it easy to implement, track our progress, and maintain strategic design initiatives over the life of the design cycle".
"Our commitment to deploying RosettaNet processes is just part of our overall CustomerFirst programme, which provides our more than 50,000 customers, channel partners and suppliers quick and easy access to product information and design requirements", continued Wildenberg.
"Additionally, we've also integrated initiatives focused on the sales channels including: integrated design centres with design simulations, customer relationship management/design win opportunity tracking, online sampling and dynamic pricing".
