New from Fairchild Semiconductor is the QTLP673C series of surface-mount PLCC-4 package LED lamps.

New from Fairchild Semiconductor is the QTLP673C series of surface-mount PLCC-4 package LED lamps The devices are top-illuminating, high-brightness lamps for interior automotive lighting applications, as well as traffic management signals and signage

The new products extend Fairchild's position as a leading supplier of ultrabright LED lighting solutions for the automotive industry.

The QTLP673C series is capable of sustaining higher drive current while reducing thermal resistance, thereby producing higher brightness in a wide range of colours.

Red, orange, yellow, and yellow-orange lamps use AlInGaP technology to produce typical luminous intensity of 700 to 800mcd.

InGaN technology is used to produce typical luminous intensity of 920mcd for true green and cyan lamps and 178mcd for blue lamps.

Solid-state reliability and a long life cycle make QTLP673C series lamps ideal alternatives to incandescent lamps in automotive and traffic lighting applications where replacement of burned-out bulbs is inconvenient and expensive.

The QTLP673C series lamps are housed in a PLCC-4 surface mount package.

The small size (3.2 x 2.8mm footprint) and low profile (1.8mm height) make them highly applicable for PCB mounted backlighting applications in dashboards, control consoles, signal lights and signs.

Clear optics, moisture-proof packaging, and a 120-degree viewing angle produces a bright, durable light source with a wide visual dispersion range.

QTLP673C series lamps are capable of IR reflow and TTW soldering and available in an 8mm-width tape on 180mm-diameter reels in quantities of 2000 units per reel.
