The FSUSB11 is a low-power high-bandwidth dual single-pole/double-throw USB switch providing fast-switch-time multiplex/demultiplexing of analogue audio and USB 1.1 signals.

The FSUSB11 is a low-power high-bandwidth dual single-pole/double-throw (SPDT) USB switch providing fast-switch-time multiplex/demultiplexing of analogue audio and USB 1.1 signals Designed specifically for USB applications, Fairchild's high-performance FSUSB11 is ideal for switching applications in ultraportable cellphones, computers and peripherals, consumer electronics and other USB 1.1-ported devices

The device provides superior performance through low power consumption, exceptional ESD protection and low total harmonic distortion (THD).

The FSUSB11 switch is housed in a super-compact 10-terminal leadless MicroPak package that measures only 1.6 x 2.1mm to optimise design flexibility in response to the growing miniaturisation trend of portable equipment.

Key features of the FSUSB11 USB analogue switch include: a high bandwidth (350MHz) that maintains signal fidelity; ultralow additive jitter (less than 2% UI typical); low on-resistance of 0.95ohm (typical) that reduces power consumption and extends battery run time; a broad operating voltage range of 1.65 to 5.5V; a low THD of 0.002% that minimises distortion placed on signals passing through the switch; and greater than 8kV ESD performance for Human Body Model (HBM).

"Fairchild's new FSUSB11 device complements Fairchild's growing portfolio of USB and ultraportable solutions, meeting design challenges in the consumer, industrial, medical and other fast-growth handheld instrumentation markets", said Gerald Johnston, Fairchild Product Manager for Analogue Switches.

These lead-free (Pb-free) products meet or exceed the requirements of the joint IPC/JEDEC standard J-STD-020B and are compliant with European Union requirements that will take effect in 2005.
