Fairchild denies patent infringement claims
Fairchild Semiconductor has responded to a patent infringement lawsuit filed last week by Power Integrations.
Fairchild Semiconductor has responded to a patent infringement lawsuit filed last week by Power Integrations.
Fairchild says that it does not believe its products violate Power Integrations' patents and that the company's claims are baseless.
"Our analysis of the claims in Power Integrations' patents indicates that we do not violate these patents", said Tom Beaver, Fairchild's executive vice president, Worldwide Sales and Marketing.
"We will continue to aggressively develop, produce, sell and support our Fairchild Power Switch (FPST) integrated circuit products and we will vigorously contest Power Integrations' groundless claims".
"Fairchild highly values its own patents and other intellectual property, and in return respects the patents and intellectual property of others", said Beaver.
"As part of that respect, we take appropriate steps not to infringe the valid patents of others".
The proprietary Fairchild Power Switch (FPS) product family spans end applications from cellphone chargers to colour televisions, and has seen expanded success over the last year with the introduction of the Green FPS family of low-standby-power products.
