Bus hold makes logic more predictable
Fairchild Semiconductor has made a number of additions to its LCX family, the logic industry standard for 3.3V applications.
The components significantly improve system reliability and efficiency by using an innovative common-mode dv/dt noise cancelling circuit that provides superior noise immunity.
Both deliver an advanced level shift circuit permitting industry-leading, high-side driver operation with negative VS swings of up to -9V (at VBS=15V).
These devices feature the industry's lowest quiescent currents, resulting in extremely low power consumption.

PLL clock drivers target high-speed clocking
Two low voltage PLL clock drivers designed for use in high-speed memory clocking applications are now available from Fairchild Semiconductor.
"The temperature dependence of both products is at the market's lowest level, achieved by optimising the internal circuit design", said Dongyoung Huh, Marketing Manager of the Power Conversion Product Line.
"In addition to the exceptional reliability and efficiency offered by Fairchild's FAN7380 and FAN7382 half-bridge gate drivers, both products guarantee stable performance in a wide range of applications".
"These components are important additions to Fairchild's power franchise portfolio offering the industry's broadest portfolio of high performance products that optimise system power".
The FAN7380, featuring built-in 100ns dead time control, is an excellent general purpose device, delivering 90mA sourcing and 180mA sinking drive current on both channels.
Fairchild's FAN7382, with a sourcing/sinking drive of 350/650mA, is well suited for PDP applications, fluorescent lamp ballast and motor control applications.
Each driver features floating channels designed for bootstrap operation to +600V, undervoltage lockout (UVLO) on both channels, 10 to 20V supply range for VCC and VBS, TTL-compatible logic inputs, matched propagation delay below 50ns and in-phase input/output.
When coupled with Fairchild's MOSFETs, IGBTs and small signal discretes, these half-bridge gate drivers provide a full half-bridge solution.
These products are a prime example of how Fairchild provides a full system power optimisation solution.
Fairchild Semiconductor is a leading supplier of power analogue and power discrete products.
This product breadth and depth is further enhanced by Fairchild's technical expertise and wealth of experience partnering with customers to solve critical industry system power design challenges.
Fairchild's FAN7380 and the FAN7382 are available in 8-SOIC packages.
These products are lead-free (Pb-free) and meet or exceed the requirements of the joint IPC/JEDEC standard J-STD-020B and are compliant with the European Union requirements that are now in effect.
