Fairchild Semiconductor will launch its 2006 power seminars beginning in January in Europe, the Americas and Asia.

Building on concrete customer experience and theory, these seminars will help applications designers improve performance, comply with energy efficiency regulations and achieve significant system-level cost savings.

The seminars will include fresh approaches to switching regulator topologies and implementations, practical application issues for switch mode power supplies (SMPS), and understanding modern power MOSFETs.

All dates and locations can be found on the Fairchild website.

"Designers today need information quickly to shorten design cycles and bring their products to market faster".

"Fairchild answers this need by applying practical customer experience to application challenges in these one-day power seminars", says Claudia Innes, Director of Corporate Marketing.

These power seminars feature power experts from Fairchild's Global Power Resource design centres who will discuss the latest design techniques, tips and tools for optimising system power.

The topics include: "A fresh approach to switching regulator topologies and implementation"; "Practical power application issues for switch mode power supplies"; "Understanding modern power MOSFETs"; "Practical power application issues for high power systems"; and "Applying power MOSFETs in an unclamped inductive switching environment (in selected locations)".

These seminars are part of the educational and practical tools offered by Fairchild's Global Power Resource.

These resources encompass a network of worldwide power design centres with a suite of online tools and system design experts who partner closely with customers to optimise and innovate designs.

By providing design, selection and educational tools online, customers can optimise their designs anywhere at anytime.
