Four-way airflow aids CPU cooling

A Fan Technology product story

DC blowers in the Adda AP series from Fan Technology fit directly on to CPUs and serve as chip coolers.

The blower action draws air over the motor hub and out at right angles through all four sides to give an overall cooling effect.

The aluminium base of the fans in the AP series is accurately machined to provide the best possible contact thus ensuring maximum thermal conductivity.

Although some models in the range have conventional fixing holes so they can be fitted anywhere in the enclosure, all models can be fixed to the processor using special thermal tape.

This tape consists of a double-sided strip bonded to an adhesive material that is impregnated with conductive particles to provide maximum adhesion while retaining the thermal conductivity.

The AP series is available in 5 and 12V versions and in 35, 40 and 45mm square frame sizes with a thickness of either 8 or 10mm.

Airflow is up to 6.10ft3/min.

The Adda patented Hypro bearings, which provide lifetimes close to ball bearings at a far lower cost and in a smaller size, are fitted and the centrifugal design offers excellent airflow performance against system pressure.
