Commenting, Ferdinand Leicher, Director of Electronic Design and Product Management, Premier Farnell, said: "As a global distributor of electronic and industrial components we have relationships with 1300 suppliers around the world".
"We carefully select the ranges for our catalogues in a way that reflects the current demands of industry".
"As design and product life cycles become ever shorter, we have become aware that there are advantages to be gained for our customers in embracing almost the entire ranges from some suppliers".
"As such, for the first time, we have included much deeper ranges from two suppliers - National Semiconductor and Texas Instruments".
James Bell, Business Director, Farnell InOne, UK and Ireland, added: "Clearly it is not only shortening product life and design cycles that are challenging design engineers but also the impending RoHS and WEEE Directives".
"Over 1500 Texas Instruments lines have been added to this year's catalogue which will be RoHS compliant by the middle of the year".
"Just short of 500 additional lines, which are already RoHS compliant, have been added from National Semiconductor".
"This is a crucial factor for design engineers and as more lines become compliant, from these suppliers and others, our customers will be able to find them, quickly and easily, flagged on our continuously updated website".
