Farnell InOne is the first European catalogue distributor to stock a comprehensive portfolio of small- to medium-sized TFT LCDs from Sharp Microelectronics.
Farnell InOne is the first European catalogue distributor to stock a comprehensive portfolio of small- to medium-sized TFT LCDs from Sharp Microelectronics.
The new range of affordable LCDs, with diagonals from 3.5 to 10.4in, are ideal for use in a wide range of industrial, medical, test and measurement and marine instrumentation applications, as well as consumer products, such as portable DVD players.
The 3.5in models are from Sharp's Advanced TFT family of transflective LCDs, providing low powered vivid images and perfect readability across a range of changing lighting conditions.
The larger size models also draw from Sharp's Strong LCD range of TFTs, offering extra resilience against the requirements of an industrial environment, such as higher brightness, wider operating temperature ranges and increased resistance to shock and vibration.
The new line of LCDs adds to Farnell InOne's already extensive choice of RoHS-compliant optoelectronic components from Sharp, including photocouplers, photo-interrupters, infra-red, fibre-optic and optical sensing devices.
Pete Davis, Head of Product Development at Farnell InOne, explains: "Farnell InOne is committed to providing design engineers with a leading edge, versatile optoelectronics range".
"The new TFT range complements Farnell InOne's existing product offering which comprises over 76,000 components supported by the 'RoHS Trusted' BSI Kitemark".
"We're dedicated to providing design engineers with fast, accurate and immediate access to products".
Franco Morotti, European Distribution Manager at Sharp, adds: "We believe the power and reach of Farnell InOne's web-based and catalogue media is ideal for this range and is instrumental to Sharp securing strong visibility within the wider design engineering community".
