D-subs expand to 78 contacts
FCI has introduced a straight 78-way variant of its classic press-fit D-subminiature connector.
For designers looking for a robust, high-pin-count connector, FCI has introduced a straight 78-way variant of its classic press-fit D-subminiature connector The connector removes the need to migrate to less robust, high-density connector technologies
The connector's press-fit terminations will also mean that the additional cost and time of an extra wave solder process can be avoided.
This latest addition to FCI's Compact D connector family is no bigger than previous 50-way versions.
As a result, product functionality can be enhanced without compromising physical size.
The connector's gold plated phosphor bronze contacts handle a maximum current of 5A and are specified to support a minimum of 500 mating/unmating cycles.
