Firewire software simplifies digital imaging
Unibrain's Fire I software for IEEE1394 cameras provides full plug and play compatibility with any DCAM compliant camera and any OHCI compatible Firewire card.
Unibrain's Fire I software for IEEE1394 cameras provides full plug and play compatibility with any DCAM compliant camera and any OHCI compatible Firewire card.
DCAM is the standard for uncompressed video on Firewire and supports cameras with resolutions from standard 640 x 480 up to 2500 x 2000pixel.
Control of camera functions such as exposure, gain and resolution are provided and users can choose to either capture and save images from the easy to use application or via the in built twain driver.
The application is ideal for applications where long term monitoring of events or experiments is needed, including simultaneous capture from multiple cameras.
Successful projects include crystallography, motion analysis, chemical reaction monitoring and general long-term experiments along with traditional industrial and scientific imaging applications.
For applications where long-term recording is needed, the software supports a time-lapse recorder facility along with a full streaming video recorder enabling all types of events to be monitored.
Fire I is WIA compliant which enables it to work with many imaging applications out of the box however for customers who wish to build the Firewire camera functionality into their own products, an optional API version is available complete with open source.
Fire I is included with all Unibrain cameras and can also be purchased for use with any other DCAM camera including Sony's range of high resolution Firewire cameras.
Firstsight Vision provides a complete range of IEEE1394 cameras, software and adaptors for PCI and PMCIA interfaces.
