RF MOSFET cuts set-top-box standby
losses
The use of lossless switching RF MOSFETs has become more important with increasing legislation on standby power consumption in electronic products.
Available now from First Components, the KTK920T is the first lossless switching RF MOSFET from KEC, Korea's largest independent semiconductor maker The device can be used to reduce the power consumption of TV sets such as DVD and VTR that have built-in tuners
The use of lossless switching RF MOSFETs has become more important with increasing legislation on standby power consumption in electronic products.
In the European Union, legislation stipulates that an electronic product should consume less than 1W when it is in standby mode.
Set-top box makers can adopt the KTK920T in their products to ensure that the devices can receive TV signals even when the DVD or VTR is switched off.
The device has a loss of 2dB or lower at 1GHz and isolation of 30dB or higher, which offers a competitive advantage.
Packaging options include 2.9 x 1.6 x 0.7mm TSQ and 2.0 x 1.25 x 0.9mm USQ.
