Push-pull coax connectors avoid GPS woes

Fischer Connectors reckons its 101 series coaxial connectors are a complete solution to GPS problems.

Fischer Connectors reckons its range of 101 series coaxial connectors is a complete solution to GPS problems The push-pull self-latching blind-mate design eliminates the need to torque up, and avoids possible cross threading experienced with SMA and other types

It also reduces assembly time in use and during equipment manufacture.

The 101 series is designed for use in military/civil communication and navigation system applications, and can be supplied with a black chrome finish for covert military/civil applications, with straight and right angle plugs available.

The 101 series design can provide the durability, sealing and reliability beyond that of alternative connectors, with sealing to IP68.

The use of Viton O-rings at the interface and at the bulkhead allows the temperature range to be extended to -25 to +200C, with lower temperatures available for military applications.

The full crimp on both the centre contact and braid provide an all round superior electrical and mechanical performance and durability.

A VSWR of 1:1.25 for DC to 4GHz can be achieved with the use of MIL-C-17 coax cables such as RG17, RG196 and RG316 or similar cable sizes.

Connectors are finished in nickel plate to MIL-C-26074 class 2, with contacts gold plated (1.3um) to MIL-G-45204 C type 1 class over nickel (4um) to QQ-N290 class 2.

Insulators are PTFE to MIL-P-14078, AMS 3652.

A rear mounted bulkhead connector is available allowing for ease of assembling a prewired unit into an M9 fixing hole.

Fischer has a fully equipped cable assembly department capable of supplying and assembling a wide range of connectors, including MCX and MMCX. Request a free brochure from Fischer Connectors ...
