Aluminium connectors are lightweight alternative
Ultralight, compact and offering excellent strength to weight ratio, the Fischer AluLite range is ideal for mobile equipment, portable systems and handheld devices.
Plug and receptacle ease installation and service
Fischer Connectors has developed a new low-profile receptacle and panel plug that it reckons provide an ideal design for the interconnection of modular systems.
The cost breakthrough comes in the design of the plastic shell, which is moulded with an integral grip for economy and ease of use.
As a result of production cost savings, the LUC can be regarded as a single-use solution or as a limited-use connector which can sterilised by EtO and gamma methods, conforming with the requirements of the UL/IEC 60601 Directives.
The versatile LUC comes in various configurations, providing optimised solutions for an array of medical applications including catheters, surgical hand tools, and more.

Fibre connector speeds switch to HDTV
Fischer's fibre-optic 1053 HDTV broadcast camera connector is credited with a significant contribution to MTV's successful HD-readiness.
The plug can directly mounted into a disposable hand piece, allowing direct mounting of instruments or probes, or overmoulded to the user's requirements.
Both configurations are easily customised and are ideal for compact designs.
A third option is a disposable cable mount version with one-piece backshell, suitable for simple applications where lowest cost is required.
A fourth features a two-piece backshell with snap-lock design for easy assembly.
This version has additional features including an ergonomic rubber grip in standard or customised colours, and space to accommodate embedded electronics which could, for example, disable the connector at a preset number of uses.
Because the LUC can be introduced in any application currently equipped with Fischer receptacles, its hygiene benefits can be exploited with no need for changes to instrumentation.
It is currently available with 2-19 pins, with solder or crimp contacts, and in three colourways.
With the increasing use of disposable medical products in the interests of patient safety, Fischer Connectors anticipates a lively market for the LUC, and early feedback from the USA is favourable.
However, use of the LUC is not restricted to medical applications, and it is expected to find a niche in other applications demanding quality with economy.
For many years, medical equipment manufacturers and healthcare companies have relied on Fischer Connectors' innovative electronic connectors.
Daily, healthcare professionals and their patients rely on consistent, trustworthy solutions for the most demanding and critical medical applications.
Featuring any mix of connectors for coaxial, fibre-optic, fluid, gas and high or low voltages, Fischer Connectors' products are lightweight, sterilisable and EMI resistant, offering options for IP68 sealing, high-density signal connection and colour coding.
