Automotive relay handles more current

Fujitsu Components has released a high-current version of its recently launched FBR53 automotive relay.

Fujitsu Components has released a high-current version of its recently launched FBR53 automotive relay The original FBR53 relay has a compact size of 12.1 x 15.5 x 13.7mm, a power consumption of 600mW and a continuous current rating of 30A at 20C

Now, the high current FBR53-HW version is available, with the same dimensions as the standard relay.

By using higher temperature grade coil wire, physically larger current-carrying metal parts and an LCP housing, the FBR53-HW offers a space saving solution for high current automotive applications.

As both contacts are operated by the same armature, the relay can also be used in a 1 form A configuration, and so is capable of handling very heavy loads.

The FBR53-HW contact life is better than 100,000 operations at 14V, 25A (for each contact) and can carry a constant current of 40A at 25C, when both contacts are in parallel.

It can handle inrush peak currents up to 200A at 95C ambient temperatures.

The FBR53-HW relay is already in use by a number of European car manufacturers, with applications in EPS systems, heater blowers, ABS, lamps, demisters etc. Request a free brochure from Fujitsu Components Europe ...
