Card connectors keep a lower profile
Fujitsu Components Europe has released the lowest profile connector currently available for micro SD cards.
Expanding its PCMCIA card connector offering, Fujitsu Components Europe has released a very low-profile connector for micro SD/TransFlash cards.
With a mounted height of 1.6mm, it is the lowest profile connector currently available for micro SD cards.
Featuring Fujitsu's precise die-and-moulding technology, the FCN-560 series micro SD connector measures 15 x 14 x 1.6mm and has a life cycle of ten thousand insertions/withdrawals.
The connector uses a proprietary push-push structure that provides positive tactile feedback during card insertion and withdrawal.
A card drop protection mechanism prevents the card from falling out during pre-insertion and forced card extraction after it's locked in.
When ejected, the card travels 3.5mm from its locked position.
The micro SD card connector offers a rated voltage of 5V AC/DC and current of 0.5A.
Contact resistance is 100mohm (initial) and the dielectric withstand voltage is 500V AC for 1min.
The operating temperature range is -20 to +70C.
The micro SD FCN-560 series connector is RoHS-compliant.
