Compact for desktop applications, the EPAD-500MS4 is a simple and cost-effective way to upgrade existing POS terminals to smart cards for electronic purse and loyalty schemes.
The reader features an antiwithdrawal mechanism to eliminate fraud, and offers security module connectors in ID-000 format.
A 16-charcter LCD is provided along with a durable three-button keypad (STOP, ?, OK) specified for a minimum of 200,000 operations, enabling an average of 200 transactions per day for five years or more.
Applications requiring a dual smart card interface are enabled by the GEMSELF-700MS2, which can simultaneously read and authenticate two different cards.
With memory extendable up to 1Gbyte and two integral ID-000 security modules, the device manages up to four different applications in a single unit.
Ten numeric keys, STOP, CORR, ? and OK function buttons, and a two-line 16-character display are included in the unit.
As well as point-of-sale and loyalty applications, the GEMSELF-700MS2 is suitable for healthcare facilities and secure computer environments, together with e-payment and identity systems.
A hand-held reader with dual smart card interface completes Flint's Gemplus family.
The GEMSELF-800MS2 can handle several applications at the same time, each one secure and individually protected.
Furthermore, two cards can be read and written simultaneously, enabling mutual authentication and electronic signature functions for two cardholders.
Powered by a standard mobile phone battery providing around 25h operation on full charge, the GEMSELF-800MS2 is ideal for healthcare and driving licence application as well as electronic purse and loyalty programmes.
