The MicroCross interconnect system, now available from Flint Distribution, is a range of connectors, receptacle headers, cable assemblies and adapters to support high speed digital transmission up to 9.9GHz The system has been specified by the Digital Display Working Group (DDWG) to satisfy the interconnect requirements for its Digital Visual Interface (DVI) standard

The MicroCross system has been developed by leading interconnect specialist Molex to support high-bandwidth video interfaces for modern host and display devices, with the ability to satisfy future-generation bandwidth requirements.

It supports single or dual link digital signalling and includes a 2.5GHz analogue option.

The system is designed for plug and play applications.

The connectors feature innovative "crossing" ground blades to deliver high-speed electrical performance in a low-cost package.

The low insertion force contact design provides two points of insertion for high reliability and optimal signal integrity.

Connectors are available in a comprehensive range of vertical and right-angle options for analogue applications, with single and dual link digital connectors available.

An integrated connector supporting combined digital and analogue interfaces is also available, which simplifies manufacturing and saves PCB real-estate.

The system is fully shielded for maximum EMI/RFI performance, with a protruding shield design for ESD protection through first-break/last-make operation.

MicroCross DVI cable assemblies and adapters are offered in a variety of configurations and can adapt to any existing system that uses VGA, DFP or P and D video I/O connector technology.

The cable assemblies and adapters are offered in standard lengths of 2, 3 and 5m.

Custom configurations and lengths are also available to specification.
