Crystal oscillators are stable for Bluetooth

Flint Wireless has added new crystal oscillators, supporting the stability and other requirements of the Bluetooth specification to its portfolio.

Flint Wireless has added new crystal oscillators, supporting the stability and other requirements of the Bluetooth specification to its portfolio of components, software and development tools for wireless networking solutions.

The portfolio also includes baseband and RF chipsets, low noise amplifiers, power amplifiers, baluns, antennas, filters and switches.

The ACT389T from Flint measures just 9 x 7 x 2mm, consumes 2mA maximum current at 3V supply and is temperature compensated, making it ideal for the majority of Bluetooth applications.

It also achieves ageing of 11ppm per annum, which is within the Bluetooth specified maximum of 18ppm.

The control voltage of 1.5-11.0V DC creates a tuning range of 15 to 112ppm.

Frequency stability is 12.5ppm over the temperature range -200 to +750C.

A range of standard frequencies is available from 12 to 26MHz.

Flint Wireless has expanded its portfolio of Bluetooth solutions aggressively in 2001, through its franchise agreements with powerful wireless technology developers including Cambridge Silicon Radio, Mezoe, Mitsumi and gigaAnt.

The distributor is also hosting seminars supported by its major principals, created to deliver practical guidance in areas such as system specification, board layout and product qualification.

It is Flint's distribution agreement with Advanced Crystal Technology that has added the ACT389T to the Flint Wireless portfolio.

The agreement, announced in March this year, covers a wide range of SMD crystal oscillators, SMD metal can quartz crystals as well as watch crystals and through-hole microprocessor crystals, through hole oscillators and ceramic resonators.
