New from Flint Smart is a compact note handling mechanism programmable to accept a range of alternative currencies including Sterling and Euros.

The Innovative Technology NV7 bank note system from Flint is suitable for a range of machines such as kiosk units, vending machines, fruit machines, gaming machines, currency changers and smart card dispenser units.

It accepts up to 32 different denominations of note in the serial control mode, and readily copes with different designs of banknote having the same value, such as are found in the UK.

Available in either horizontal or vertical mounting configuration, the NV7 is designed for easy installation in most machines.

The new stepped "smiling mouth" allows insertion of notes with one hand and simplifies the note handling mechanism.

Validation is based on an optical reading system with top and bottom note scanning, together with single note escrow for security.

Integral anti-fishing (stringing) devices prevent mechanical fraud and users can set the device for either high security or high acceptance.

The NV7 Validator is ready for immediate installation, factory-programmed with at least one currency data set.

Currency data are simply changed using either the NV7-to-NV7 currency cloning system or the PC based currency management software including the option of upgrading the software remotely over the Internet.

Interfacing the validator is very simple, with the choice of parallel open collector outputs, pulse stream output, or SSP secure serial communications.

Other communication protocols such as the MDB interface will become available in future.
