Flint gears up to take over CSR Bluetooth lineup

Flint Wireless has been appointed the sole UK agent, as well as distributor for CSR Bluetooth silicon and development tools, following the termination of CSR's relationship with Silex.

Flint Wireless has been appointed the sole UK agent, as well as distributor for CSR Bluetooth silicon and development tools, following the termination of CSR's relationship with Silex.

To help support its growing level of Bluetooth business, Flint has also added George Dunlop, as a Communications Systems Specialist, and Mo Farhand as Technical Specialist extending its team supporting Bluetooth technology.

"Based on the success of our relationship with Flint Wireless, and their excellent track record of developing and working with customers on CSR silicon, we made the decision to offer Flint the opportunity to develop high volume blue-chip designs, as will as mid-tier opportunities", commented Alan Woolhouse, CSR Vice President of Communications, "Our new relationship makes Flint Wireless the centre of excellence for CSR Bluetooth technology in the UK", said Flint Managing Director Carl Barton.

"We are proud to have achieved a new franchise agreement, at the point at which CSR is rolling out the second generation of its technology".

Dunlop comes to Flint from Silex Communications where, as Technical Director, he managed support for CSR's tier 1 customers in UK and Ireland.

He has extensive experience in the semiconductor industry, in communications applications and in IT systems integration.

Farhand, an experienced software engineer, was Technical Specialist at Silex and brings with him in-depth knowledge of embedded systems programming and integration.

Flint Wireless is headed up by Flint Marketing Manager Douglas Gilmour, and includes John Jones as dedicated Wireless Technical Manager.

Flint's three FAEs have been fully trained on Bluetooth technology.
