High-luminance low-power LEDs for
handhelds

Rohm Electronics is significantly enlarging its ultracompact power-MOSFET lineup, which already encompasses 60 different devices.
The Rohm SML-010 and SML-020 series LEDs are single- and two-colour Devices, respectively.
The SML-010 series are available in red, orange, yellow and green in a 3 x 2mm leadless, rectangular package.
Power dissipation is 75mW for red LEDs and 70mW for other colours.
Operating temperature range is -30 to +85C.
The SML-020 series devices each feature a pair of red and green emitting chips, built into a single 3 x 2.5mm package.
These two-colour LEDs are suitable for indicating incoming calls on cellular handsets and many other applications.
Power dissipation is 60mW, and operating temperature range -30 to +85C.
The compact and leadless design enables high mounting density and makes these devices suitable for automatic mounting.
They are designed to prevent solder from permeating into moulded plastics during the reflow soldering process, thereby increasing reliability.
