The developer, Widcomm, is a global Bluetooth technology leader, whose IP has been adopted by major brand owners in end-user products such as headsets, PDAs, cellular phone handsets, printers and many other consumer and professional products for wireless communications.

Widcomm BTE is a complete IP solution for Bluetooth Embedded development, including a hardware development board and test tools that include scripting and trace capabilities, as well as upper and lower stacks, helper code and turnkey reference designs.

All Bluetooth 1.1 profiles are included, including hands free (HFP), hard copy cable replacement (HCRP), basic printing (BPP) and personal area networking (PAN).

Software design and porting have already been completed as part of the BTE offering, requiring only simple system design expertise to complete a prototype for evaluation.

Widcomm BTE is BQB certified for Bluetooth version 1.1, and is efficient, small, and optimised for embedded applications.

Using Widcomm BTE from Flint, designers can now reduce time to market for new Bluetooth system on chip designs, exploiting the comprehensive development platform to perform essential test and validation steps that may otherwise require extra investment in test equipment or external testing and validation services.

The Widcomm BTE test tool supports validation of protocol functionality, as well as debugging and tracing for each Bluetooth stack layer.

An HCI tester and Bluetooth simulation features are also included.

Hundreds of scripts are provided, enabling Bluetooth solutions to be easily ported to any embedded platform, target processor or RTOS.
