Following a new franchise agreement with Canadian connector manufacturer EDAC, Flint is to offer from stock a full range of USB connectors.

Following a new franchise agreement with Canadian connector manufacturer, EDAC, Flint is to offer from stock a full range of USB connectors, covering Type A, Type B and mini-USB styles in through hole and surface mount form, together with the associated cable assemblies.

Under the agreement, Flint will be promoting the complete family of EDAC interconnect solutions, including custom connectors.

With USB finding increasing favour outside the PC industry as a high-performance low-cost multidevice interconnect standard, Flint's introduction of quality connector support is extremely timely.

The EDAC range offers all the attractive features of the USB standard, including 1.2Mbit/s speeds, hot pluggability and support for up to 127 devices.

The device side versions feature hold-downs to improve board retention.

Flint is to stock EDAC's board mount Type A, Type B and Mini-USB sockets in surface mount and through-hole style.

The cable-mount sockets are stocked as complete cable assemblies, with the industry preferred 1.8 or 1.0m lengths.
