Micrel Semiconductor has extended its distribution network, adding Flint as a UK technical distributor covering its complete portfolio.

Micrel Semiconductor has extended its distribution network, adding Flint as a UK technical distributor covering its complete portfolio of advanced high-performance analogue, mixed-signal and digital ICs.

According to Flint Head of Marketing Douglas Gilmour, "The fit between Micrel's portfolio and Flint's existing strengths is outstanding.

The agreement allows us to offer our customers real strength in key power and analog segments.

Micrel's RF devices ideally complement our wireless antennas and other components, and the range of e/l drivers fits with our displays range".

According to Dave Foster, European Distribution Manager of Micrel, "Flint's exceptional technical support, and great logistical back-up, combined with our innovative and advanced products, will prove a winner.

Flint has the capability to expose us to new markets and customers in the UK not served by our existing channels".

Following the agreement, Flint is to support its customers with all Micrel semiconductor devices, including low-dropout and switching voltage regulators, PCMCIA and USB power controllers, high speed communications interfaces, operational amplifiers, comparators, voltage references, power drivers, RF devices, high speed logic and clock management ICs.

Applications for these products include computer peripherals, industrial and process control products and avionics systems.
