World's first 10Gbit/s Ethernet cable testing solution for copper, combines popular DTX-1800 CableAnalyzer certification tester with the new DTX 10 Gig Kit.

Fluke Networks is shipping the world's first 10Gbit/s Ethernet cable testing solution for copper, combining its popular DTX-1800 CableAnalyzer certification tester with the new DTX 10 Gig Kit.

This new test package enables testing and certification of both existing Cat 6 or newly installed Augmented Cat 6 cabling.

Now users can determine which existing links can be used at the new, higher data speeds, saving both time and money over a complete new installation.

This new testing package provides the only standards-compliant 10Gbit/s certification solution that supports cabling from 10Mbit/s to 10 Gig Ethernet.

The new DTX 10 Gig Solution is the first field test solution that can measure performance for 10 Gig and alien crosstalk (ANEXT and AFEXT) to 500MHz, in full compliance with the recently ratified IEEE 802.3an standard.

The new kit has also been proven over the last six months by hardware suppliers working to finalise the TIA TSB155 and ISO TR24750 testing guidelines for 10 Gig Ethernet.

The Fluke Networks DTX 10 Gig testing solution fully complies with these standards, yet is portable and practical for certification in the field.

Fluke Networks' test solution for 10 Gig copper Ethernet makes it possible to measure and evaluate the Alien Crosstalk between all possible wire pair combinations of two links in approximately 30 seconds.

The DTX AxTalk analyser software included with the DTX 10 Gig Kit takes the complexity out of testing Alien Crosstalk by automating all the tasks and computations.

The DTX-1800 CableAnalyzer certification tester substantially reduces the total time required to certify cabling installations.

This tester provides a Category 6 Autotest that meets TIA-568-B certification requirements for structured cabling warranties in about one-third the time required by other testers.

The DTX CableAnalyzer exceeds requirements for Cat 5e/6 and class E/D/F and is independently verified by UL to meet ISO Level IV and proposed TIA Level IIIe Accuracy requirements.

The DTX 10 Gig Kit consists of a set of communications modules which snap into the DTX-1800 main and remote units.

Also included is a Windows-based software program to calculate AxTalk power sum test parameters.

The kit enables tests in a channel as well as permanent link configuration.

The DTX 10 Gig Kit is available for delivery from distributors and other Fluke Networks sales outlets worldwide.

The DTX CableAnalyzer and assorted modules are available for immediate delivery from these same channels.
