The latest inline network test tool from Fluke Networks, NetTool VoIP offers a breakthrough in voice over IP troubleshooting technology with an industry-first "edge testing" approach.
Streamlined approach to network monitoring
Fluke Networks has entered a partnership with Ipswitch to produce a real-time solution for network administrators who need a powerful solution to network problem identification and resolution.
In addition to free string match filters and triggers, OptiView Series III now offers 802.1x authentication, gigabit line rate traffic generation and Internetwork Throughput testing, encapsulation independent protocol filtering, application-level traffic analysis and application-layer bounce charts for application performance visualisation.
The analyser can identify and match any set of words or phrases in network traffic, regardless of the position in the packet, for full line rate filtering on gigabit links.
This allows detection and capture of traffic containing certain words or phrases in nonencrypted e-mails, web pages, file transfers or documents to identify illicit use of the network.
"The combination of free string match and trigger is a great tool to solve an issue I run into frequently".
"Now I can enter the error message the terminal receives from the server, trigger on it and capture the traffic around the event - before and after", said Mike Pennacchi, Executive Network Analyst, Network Protocol Specialists.
Free string match can also identify and track applications that are not allowed on the network, such as streaming media that may consume valuable bandwidth, or P2P applications that may pose a security risk.
Intermittent performance problems can also be diagnosed faster with free string match.
Intermittents which can take days or even weeks to solve can now be fixed in a day or less.
OptiView Series III integrated network analyser can capture traffic around any application error message, saving time and frustration when pinpointing elusive intermittent problems.
New to the OptiView Series III integrated network analyser is real-time application analysis on gigabit links.
Users can determine the specific endpoints (server, host) using each application, and perform layer 3 or layer 2 trace routes to identify the switch or router interface to which the endpoint is connected for each application.
This saves time and takes the pain out of deploying new applications on higher-speed links.
The OptiView Series III integrated network analyser is available for immediate delivery from Fluke Networks sales partners worldwide.
