Power quality analyser adds more
functions

Fluke has introduced a new, more powerful, handheld power quality analyser offering all those who work with power systems a complete, single-tool test solution.

Fluke has introduced a new, more powerful, handheld power quality analyser offering all those who work with power systems a complete, single-tool solution to track down problems and monitor all the relevant power quality parameters The further improved user interface now makes it even easier to operate, while its enhanced dynamic and intermittent fault tracking functions, including new three-phase power measurements and harmonics logging, add valuable extra test capabilities

The Fluke 43B gives users a complete power quality analyser in a rugged and compact handheld package.

It is the ideal tool to quickly solve many common problems in the power domain: tripping circuit breakers, overheating transformers and cables, motors that burn out, lamps that flicker and computers that fail with no visible cause.

With its ability to show current and voltage waveforms, calculate power parameters and capture voltage sags and swells, transients and inrush currents, underlying power quality problems can be identified, so that the appropriate corrective measures can be taken.

The Fluke 43B is aimed at electrical engineers, utility technicians, electrical contractors, facility engineers, industrial equipment technicians and many others who have to deal with power supplies and networks in their everyday work.

Together with its power functions, the Fluke 43B also includes multimeter functions as well as a 25Msample/s dual-input digital oscilloscope with advanced triggering capabilities.

With an optional 10:1 voltage probe, the scope can capture signals with a bandwidth of up to 20MHz.

This combination means the 43B is the only tool engineers need to carry to deal with a wide range of power-quality and related issues.

The Fluke 43B's power mode now allows measurement of three-phase power in balanced systems using just a single set of voltage probes and one current clamp, with on-screen graphics to show the user how to set up the measurement.

Also new are crest factor readings for volts-amps-hertz mode.

The 43B now has 20 storage locations (twice as many as the original Fluke 43) for settings, waveform data and readings, which can be recalled for later analysis using cursors.

Supplied as standard with the Fluke 43B is the latest FlukeView software for the 43B, which supports logging, reading and display of all harmonics right down to the 51st, including THD and phase angles of individual harmonics, as well as all other readings from the 43B's display.

After downloading to the PC, data from the 43B can be analysed and included in reports.

FlukeView for the PC is now a 32bit Windows 95-style program, and runs under all versions of Windows 95, 98, Me, NT4.0 and 2000.

The Fluke 43B is supplied complete and ready-to-use in a rugged carrying case including probes, test leads, clips, current clamp, RS232 cable, charger, FlukeView software, manuals and instruction video. Request a free brochure from Fluke (UK) ...
