Finisar's line of coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) modules is now in volume production.
This is a new position reporting to Jan Meise, International Sales and Marketing Manager, and highlights Finisar's dedication to strengthen its position and widen its customer base in Europe.
"We are excited to have Katharine join us at Finisar", said Meise.
"Based in Munich, her skills and experience will be vital for developing a close partnership with our European customer base".
Schmidtke has more than seven years experience in telecommunications and joins Finisar from JDS Uniphase, where she worked in various strategic and product line management positions.
She has a strong optical background which she gained through a post doctoral scholarship at Stanford University (USA), a PhD in nonlinear optics from Southampton University (UK) and a BSc in physics from the University of Keele (UK).
