Now available in production quantities from Finisar is an industrial-temperature-range coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) gigabit interface convertor (GBIC) optical transceiver Ideally suited for data transport systems deployed in uncontrolled temperature environments, the CWDM GBIC is able to withstand operating temperature extremes of -40 to +85C while functioning at speeds up to 2.7Gbit/s

"This particular solution was designed to address the requirements of outdoor fibre-rich architectures in a variety of telecom environments currently underway to bring fibre closer to the home, office building or other extreme temperature locations".
The industrial temperature CWDM GBIC transceivers include Finisar's patented digital diagnostics, an avalanche photodiode (APD) receiver and CWDM distributed feedback (DFB) lasers available in eight wavelengths.
All Finisar transceivers are enclosed in a metal package reducing electromagnetic interference (EMI).
Finisar's WDM product family includes optical transceivers, passive optical add/drop multiplexers (OADMs) and multiplexers/demultiplexers providing optical support for Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel and Sonet/SDH applications.
Finisar also offers a broad range of SFP, SFF, GBIC, 1x9 and XFP transceivers for Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel, Sonet/SDH, 1000Base-T and 1000Base-CX applications.
