The search facility embedded within IC4me interrogates a comprehensive supplier database to identify possible worldwide sources for the target component.
IC4me then requests product availability and pricing from these potential sources.
"We have been testing the system with several customers over the past few months with massive success and experience tells us that we can normally notify potential buyers of product availability within just 24 hours".
Says Focus EDL's Managing Director Geoff Philpot.
"It's our unique search facility, developed over the past two years, that makes the whole thing possible".
He adds: "Although some customers will use IC4me to search for unusual components, it comes into its own when a customer needs a specific product in a hurry and the manufacturer is unable to help".
"All a customer needs to do is provide some basic details about their company and the hard to find component to be sourced and IC4me will do the rest", concludes Philpot.
